For 2010 we decided to move from our usual “last Wednesday of February” date for Pink Shirt Anti-Bullying Day in order to avoid conflicting with the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games scheduled for late February and early March of 2010.

This way we ensure we get as much media focus and participation as possible from our home base of Vancouver, BC.

So mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 14, 2010 when we hold our Third Annual Pink Shirt Anti-Bullying Day.

For 2010,  Boys & Girls Clubs across Canada will be participating in Pink Shirt Day and we anticipate adding more partners to make this the biggest anti-bullying awareness day in North America - if not the world!

We had people on all seven continuents, in over 75 countries, every province in Canada and every State in the US wearing pink on February 25th.

Hundreds of photos, messages and videos were sent to info@pinkshirtday.ca, posted on the website and shared on Facebook.

With over 22,000 shirts sold, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Vancouver now have the funds necessary to continue their outstanding anti-bullying education.

Wrap party for Pink Shirt Anti-Bullying Day at the Roxy in Vancouver, BC - and you are invited!

We will be decking out the club in Pink and feature Pink drinks. We have some EXCITING entertainment with Shaun Verreault from Wide Mouth Mason and rocker Daniel Wesley.

This year’s “Pink Shirt Day” is on Wednesday, February 25, 2009.

Over 6 weeks last year, CKNW and the Christy Clark Show undertook what became one of our station’s most successful campaigns to date, Pink Shirt Day – Bullying Stops Here.

We chose pink because that was the colour worn by two students in Nova Scotia who donned pink t-shirts as a way to show solidarity with a boy who had been bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school.
